[ You find yourself in back in the Golden Hall?? No - wait. The aesthetics are similar, but this is an actual place rather than some kind of mental construct. Also, way fewer pictures.

The long hallways of the Emperor's castle are filled with a bunch of people in cloaks and bird masks. They seem to be bustling about with ... food? Yes, following them finds them all pouring into a dining hall. There are lots of, uh. UNUSUAL options? Food that bites back, or has acid in it, or a bunch of still-wriggling fairy limbs baked into the pie. But there's also some normal things, like bread and apples and stuff.

A young man in a gold mask hangs back, watching the dinner with something approaching jealousy. ]

[glancing around for the hunter he came in with, but as he does:]

Okay, just so you know, you should absolutely be allowed to go to parties and your uncle is a bad person.

[ The Guard is hanging back, watching this interaction.

Meanwhile younger Hunter scoffs. ]

Um, hello? My uncle is the best! He took me in and gave me a home! Plus I'm allergic to a bunch of food, so it's for the best he controls my entire life!

That... is an incredibly quick escalation! Wow. Also, did he just tell you that you were allergic, or did you find out by actually trying it?

I mean, I tried a few things? Like - arsenic candy and belladonna tea. And I almost died.

[heartlands]

—That's not an allergy, that's him literally feeding you poison?!

He didn't feed me poison, I fed myself poison.

[ A beat ]

I didn't know it was poison! It's not poison! Witches eat it all the time!

[ Well, first thing's first, he's going to look for something so he can wipe his hands off. no big deal. ]

[ Well this kid has a cloak; you can wipe your hands off on him! ]

[ He does that at first before he realizes. ]

Because I have allergies! And none of that food is approved!
