[For a moment Casey just kinda gazes back at him like a sap, basking quietly in this feeling, his head tilting to rest on Hunter's hand. One of his own seeks out Hunter's other hand, twining their fingers.]
You know... even if sensei didn't approve, I'd want this, anyway.
I'd fight him! [Even for a silly (and verified untrue) hypothetical, his answer is quick and determined.] I've always obeyed him. I bet he'd be surprised.
I think so, too. [He feels his own swell of pride at the idea.] I'd fight anybody, if I had to. Except you, I guess. You're the only one who could get rid of me.
[A real kiss! He's here for it. As they pull back Casey's smile is broad and content. An emotionally fraught night, but this has been so nice. Nature is healing.]
I've... never had anybody else in my head before. And we talked about it a while back- how I'd be scared if it ever happened to me. But now it has, and... it was sensei. It was different, so I'm not sure how to feel anymore. You and April are the only ones I can ask.
[And he's not ready to bring this up with April for a while. She was there, she saw it go down. Everything is a little too close, still.]
[Casey's eyes widen at that, his breath catching on a sharp inhale. That... that resonates with him, stronger than expected. A very good answer.]
Safe... that's what it is. That's what's different. [He rests a hand against his chest, fingers brushing over the Hamato emblem holding his cloak together.] I was scared, but... because it was sensei, I knew I was safe. He would never hurt me, or steal my body. I knew I'd... still be me.
[That was always the most frightening part, what made the nightmares truly nightmarish. To be possessed and controlled by the Krang meant losing yourself. They could take over your life, make you do what they want, hurt people, kill people. He'd grown up terrified of becoming a weapon wielded against his family, and all he could do would be to watch it happen, trapped in his own mind.
Sensei didn't. Sensei wouldn't. He'd... been safe.]
[Casey's able to relax again, nodding slowly, and cuddles in close. It's something else to think about, sure, but it's... comforting, as Hunter said. It's different, when it's your family. (He got it so right!)]
I knew it was sensei from the start. I didn't have any reason to be scared. [He exhales deeply, tension bleeding out of him.] Thank you... that helps a lot.

That's all I ever wanted.

Yeah? You'd fight your sensei for me?

[Finally, some teenage rebellion.]

I think he'd kinda be proud of you for it.

[ He finally turns to give Casey a kiss on the lips. ]
Guess you're stuck.

I could say the same thing. Lucky me, lucky you.

Hey, um... can I ask a weird question?

Uh - I - huh? Why?

It - it mostly felt like I was asleep. Because I was. But every now and then I would wake up early, and then ...
[ A deep breath. ]
It was like being locked in my bedroom while listening to the two of you talk in the living room.

You could hear us?
[He feels flustered, hearing that in retrospect. They didn't say anything bad, of course, but they'd talked about Hunter a couple of times.]
no subject
[ He flusters a bit. ]
I could hear but I couldn't make out any words!

[He settles a little, giving Hunter's hand a squeeze.]
That sounds... frustrating. Sorry, I didn't know.

[This is what he's looking for- the part he's having trouble understanding himself.]

Yeah! Yeah, that's it exactly. I was only scared the first time.
[ Absolutely smiling now as he looks over at Casey. ]
Because I didn't know he was my brother yet.
