Somehow I don't like this...

[ A voice comes from right behind him. ]

[turning around immediately]

Oh, whoa. Uh, hey there! Didn't realize there was anyone else here.

[pyrighteous]

Of course there was. You're in my mind, aren't you?

[heartlands]

[frowning immediately]

Uh, no. This definitely isn't yours. Where's Hunter?

[pyrighteous]

Oh, he's somewhere safe. I'm protecting him, you see.

[heartlands]

Right. Sure. I'd like to see him anyways.

[pyrighteous]

Right over here.

[ He gestures to another painting. This one shows Belos as a shining savior, staving off green-black slime with a glowing white barrier. Hunter is enclosed in a glass casket at his feet, his expression peaceful. ]

[heartlands]

[he reaches out to touch it, concerned]

What do you think you're protecting him from, exactly?

[pyrighteous]

[ The painting ... bulges under his hand? The material is so thin; there's no wall behind it. ]

Himself, of course. He's not fit to run his own mind.

[heartlands]

[immediately:]

That's ridiculous. You need to let him out.

[pyrighteous]

Absolutely not.

[heartlands]

[sighs]

Then I'll find him and do it myself. You don't get to make decisions for him.

[pyrighteous]

And you do? He chose this arrangement, for your information.

And I'm sure you had nothing to do with that.

[he's trying to press a little harder on the painting to see what happens.]

[pyrighteous]

[ The painting rips easily; past it, there's nothing but ... slime? Air? And a light somewhere deep down. ]

I made a fair argument.

[heartlands]

Somehow I'm getting the idea that you might be a little bit biased about what's fair.

[he'll try to reach for that light, if he can.]
