[snek] PALISMAN REQUEST POST
HEY EVERYONE it’s a post for requesting that Hunter make you a palisman! Awesome!!
What Is a Palisman?
Palismen are incredibly cute lil witch familiars carved out of the special wood of a palistrom tree! Once the carving process is complete, the carved shape comes to life as an actual creature. This does NOT need to be a realistic shape, and sometimes you don’t quite get the critter that you carved when they come to life. (See also: Luz carving an egg and getting a snake shifter as a result.) These creatures can also shift magically into staff form, which can be used to fly around.
Palismen are capable of communicating complete thoughts to the witch who’s bonded to them, but they do not have a specific language. It’s just like talking to droids in Star Wars. Or like talking to Lassie. Clearly there’s communication going on there, but no actual words are happening.
Normally, a palisman would also permit the user to cast spells without any magical abilities, but that’s kind of OP to be handing out even with an IC time delay, so imma say these are MOSTLY pets, with a limited ability to fly around in staff form. They get tired, though, so don’t go doing drag races above the forest unless you wanna walk home.
Palismen are hardy creatures that do not require food or water (though they seem to enjoy both.) They are basically immortal unless destroyed. Despite their appearance when in critter form, they are always made of wood, and take damage accordingly. If you crack open a palismen, they bleed glowing green goo that has the ability to heal anyone who consumes it. But a) this kills the palisman and b) it is a SUPER cursed way to live.

So How Do I Get One?
Hunter will be carving them for people in Snek! He has three palistrom trees in Mouse’s garden (two grown from seeds, one … special) that can be harvested for wood. These DO take time to regrow, and if enough people request palismen from him all at once, he may have to delay until he’s sure that Viktor (and Briar?) can regrow the trees without hurting them. No over harvesting palistrom wood please.
If you have strong CR with him, then he’ll make it for you for free. If you don’t know him that well, he’ll request a trade. (If you’re unsure of where you stand, just ask!) There will be an IC delay of 1-2 days as he carves the palisman.
To make a request, you can ask him ICly! Or you can use the following form and plop a comment down below. Or both! Both is good. You may get a doodle in response if I’m feeling up to it.
