On one of the blank pages at a chapter end, F has put together a useful page of information with this title:
GRIMWALKER CARE TIPS
First of all, don't panic. We can take a lot of damage before we die. This is probably manageable.
The Healing Coven is only to be used for dire emergencies and throwing up after accidentally poisoning yourself. Please be sure to do that if you eat any of these things:
- Arsenic (do NOT eat the cookies) - Nightshade (ditto for the tea) - Hemlock (tea and liquor both)
... And so on for a wide array of obvious human poisons. Also, a mild lactose intolerance.
If you can find someone trustworthy in the Plant Coven, they are your best option for medical help.
Make sure to seal all cuts with a bandage or stitches. We don't clot very well, so it bleeds forever and takes a while to close up.
Puncture wounds, on the other hand, are fine. If you wind up with a permanent hole in your body, consider using it to hide important items.
You can still bleed to death, and if your galdorstone breaks, there's no way to fix it.
When in doubt, lie out on the roof during a sunny day. This helps most of our problems.
AVOID THE COMMON MOLD AT ALL COST. It will last FOREVER. And you will never get the same immunity as the other scouts. If you do get it, take baths in a mixture of two parts vinegar and one part water. Then, scrub with a mixture of baking soda and water. Clean EVERYTHING. Yes, even inside your ears, A.
A: instructions unclear got soda stuck in my ears. my ancestral memories tell me this was not the first time!
Avoid being caught on fire. Even moreso than the normal amount of being caught on fire.
Avoid being hit by Belos's green form. Any touch he leaves will burn and scar.
You can only substitute sunlight for food one meal per day. DO NOT TRY EATING ONLY SUNLIGHT FOR AN ENTIRE WEEK, A.
A: haha oops i always find this book too late for any of these! oh well!!
