It's an old human thing. No idea why dogs chase cars, but the proverbial ending is that if the dog catches the car, it doesn't know what to do with it.

So ... hair is something you've always wanted but now that you have it, you don't know what to do?

Last time I had hair, it was sentient and evil and used me to steal stuff. So I don't count it, but this? No idea what to do with it.

Hunter with an idea... Leo nods and sits properly cross legged and turns so his back is to Hunter.]

[ Hunter snags a blue fabric scrap from the mask he was working on? Drapes it on his wrist as he gently draws his fingers through Leo’s hair to comb it out. And also give him a bit of a scalp massage. ]

How’s that feel?

[Leo goes completely still-

and then practically melts.]

It absolutely does. Scaley scalp does not work for this kind of finesse.

This is just a temporary test drive to see if I like it. Uh. Korone has a spell that can do this. We'd talked about it for a while.

[He hesitates, hearing that bit of panic in Hunter's voice, reaching back to squeeze his knee.]

There's, uh. Back home, in the Hidden City, there are these cloaking disguise brooches that can give me a human looking form too when the wearer wants. [Just. Testing those waters.]

[ Oh. Phew. Hunter slumps against him. ]

[Leo doesn't move, supporting Hunter's slump. But his heart does some funny things hearing that.]

[ A pause; without his scales, Leo can likely feel Hunter’s face redden. ]

[Leo hesitates for a second, really getting his thoughts together.]

[ Hang on, brain dumped all his thoughts out. ]

[ He ties Leo’s hair back in a neat ponytail. ]

[He wiggles a little excitedly - Hunter doing his hair and good feelings and get to hold Hunter while he's all soft and not hardshell.

But as soon as he's done, he turns his head one way then the other feeling it out of the way.]

Dunno why I didn't think of that.

You’ve never had hair that wasn’t evil before. Of course you didn’t think of it.

[ He comes around to Leo’s front for cuddles. ]

Good point. I'll remember that the next time I have evil hair.

[But Hunter moving to his front, Leo immediately wraps arms around him to tug Hunter in close.]

[ One oddity of Hunter’s body is apparent immediately: he’s actually several degrees cooler than a regular human, courtesy of being made mostly of wood. But Leo would never have known that before with Hunter still being much warmer than him normally.

He leans in, carefully putting his arms around Leo in turn? Kind of awed. ]

You’re so warm. And - and soft.

[He does notice it. It's weird, thinking Hunter isn't as warm as he'd previously thought. But it's just as weird holding him and not feeling awkward with his shell and plastron in the way.]
