However, he really likes magician, and I think specifically he likes how they can trick people into thinking what they're doing might really be magic.

He was very excited for real magic, but he gets downright giddy with magicians.

Maybe its the same and its just level of exposure, I never asked him.

What exactly is a magician?

So you know how a bunch of worlds have it so humans don't have magic at all?

Oh yeah, that part's easy enough. I saw it up close and personal.

So obviously, magic doesn't exist, but some people make it a whole thing by doing things to make it seem like magic does exist through a mix of trickery and physical skill. Misdirection, smoke and mirrors, playing tricks on the eyes, things like that.

Like this is an extremely basic form of it, but its the concept. [He's gonna do that trick where someone looks like they're pulling off their own thumb.]

That is an exceedingly simple trick, but I feel it covers the basic principles of it. Everything is like that, but gets ticked up to like a hundred.

That's so easy though.

To be fair to magicians.

It does take a lot of skill to do bigger things. Like I could do and follow more complex tricks, but that is specifically because I am a ninja and I can follow the insane dexterity and speed some of them have.

In the end, what they do is trickery and deception, but I will give them enough credit to recognize some of it is quite hard to pull off.

Okay, okay. I mean - I still don't understand it, but if Leo likes that kind of thing ...

He does. He almost gets as excited for magic shows as he does Jupiter Jim. You could probably figure out why he does if you ask him, we mostly bicker if we get into too deep a talk.
